"Escape from everyday life", as I understand it, is escaping from the realm of illusion. And diving deep down towards reality, towards seeing things as they really are. 'Everyday life', that's fairy land. Seeing things as they really are, that's freeing oneself from illusions. From the belief, that greed, hate and illusion bring any profit. From the illusion of a fixed ego. From the illusion that there is a sort of border between oneself and the other person.
There may be some fear when we jump down the sprungturm. But why not enjoy this fear, or even angst? Let's jump anyway, let's pay the price, it's fair, and let's be free and easy. And it says: If we close some door, in a magical sort of way some other door will open."
